Colin Powell to Endorse Barack Obama, NOT!

Just when you thought that the Obama camp has tried every trick in the book, another one comes up. This time with Colin Powell.

It has been rumored for months that Gen. Powell would endorse Barack Hussein Obama for the Presidency of the United States. And Gen. Powell has advised both campaigns, but has stayed out of the political arena through out the majority of this campaign season. In doing this he has shown himself to be an elder statesman of the nation and not a political hack like many other former military men.

Today it was announced by the Obama campaign that Gen. Powell would speak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado later on this month.

Sources say former Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol told FOX News exclusively on Thursday.

“He may well give a speech at the Democratic convention explaining his endorsement of Obama,” Kristol m a FOX News contributor, said, citing inside sources.

“This is not an absolute done deal, but these people are very confident that Powell will endorse Obama,” Kristol said, adding that he thinks Powell, a Republican, still has “a high respect” for John McCain, Obama’s Republican rival.
I cannot see the man who stood besides George W. Bush through the debate on whether to go to war with Iraq endorsing a man with absolutely no qualifications in foreign affairs. Nor can I see him turning on the party that he has loved for so many years.

Powell spokeswoman Peggy Cifrino strongly denied the report.

“There’s absolutely no truth to it whatsoever,” Cifrino told FOXNews.com. “Colin Powell will not be at either convention. There’s absolutely no truth to this."

An endorsement by Powell could go a long way to attracting moderates and wayward Republicans to the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate.

Over the years, Powell himself has been touted as a potential presidential or vice presidential candidate. The former national security adviser served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. He was secretary of state for the younger President Bush.

His tenure is most notable for presenting to the U.N. Security Council evidence that Iraq was pursuing weapons of mass destruction. His presentation led to a resolution endorsing military action against that country, but he later described it as a “blot” on his record.

I knew that the Obama people were desperate, but could they be this desperate to fabricate such a deception? And what would they get from such a deception?

Barack Hussein Obama has a big problem with middle-class white working voters. The people he said: "And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion..." He can't get his lies and flip-flops through to them. These people want straight answers and straight talk, not half-truths and lies.

If Gen. Powell does talk at the Democratic Convention it will be a first for him. For he never spoke at any convention before. But I doubt he will. I don't believe he will even be in Denver at the time.

And I see this as another ploy to by the Obama campaign to lie their way into the White House. A move they seem to do very well.

Lie, cheat, steal, expect it all.

Did the Obama campaign announce this? If so, cite the news article that states that? Calling them out for a lie they didn't make is a distortion of the truth.
